Geolocation Data

Aggregated location signals - foot traffic, dwell time, movement - used as a physical-world proxy for demand and activity.

Geolocation data captures where activity is happening in the physical world: foot traffic to a store or venue, dwell time in a location, and movement between places, typically derived from mobile devices and aggregated to protect individual privacy. It gives an early, direct read on demand that filings and surveys only report after the fact.

The sensitivity of the underlying data means consent, anonymization, and aggregation are non-negotiable, and a responsible provider treats them as part of the product. The analytical challenges mirror other panels: device coverage varies by region and over time, so counts have to be normalized and calibrated rather than read literally. Paired with card spend, foot-traffic trends become a sharper picture of a business than either source alone.
